This is it. The job I've always wanted. I still have 3 hours before the appointment at 1pm but i want to get there early to assure that nothing will go wrong...
Hmmm it takes around 5 minutes to get there and I'm leaving 2 and half hours early? I have plenty of time....
CRASH
Ah! watch where you're going my car already just got ran into. Ugh whatever I'll just call a tow truck I still have 2 hours before my appointment.
He dials the number... Hello? yes hi i need someone to come out and tow my car.
muffled noises are heard and Tom hangs up the phone in disgust.
It'll take them one hour to get here!? i guess that's okay I'll still have an hour and a half to get to my appointment and it will only take me 10 minutes to walk from here so I have plenty of time still right
(Tom begins meticulously rubbing his hands together)
This is taking to long I'm just going to leave and walk for my appointment
(The clock above strikes 12pm)
I better hurry now I only have an hour to get there.... even if it only takes 10 minutes to walk... oh well
his first step lands him on the ground with his face laying down and his pants soaked from the puddle
I can't present myself like this i need to run home and change! what does my watch say... 12:05?!?! how long have i been laying here...
It doesn't matter I need to get there I have goals and I need to accomplish them!
Gotta find clothes gotta find clothes found some!
Okay time check... 1230! I gotta run now
huff huff huff huff huff theres the building i can stop for a break now. I Wonder what the time the clock in the building reads
Tom walks into the lobby and asks the receptionist for the time she informs him it is 12:55
Oh no I'm going to be late!
He runs up the stairs and scales 5 flights of stairs and bursts into the room panting and realizes he's in the wrong building!!!
12:58! he runs down the stairs out of the building and enters next door and runs up 5 more flights of stairs and throws the doors wide open and his eyes focus on the clock on the far side of the room it reads 1:01
I'm late!!!
He runs into the office of the hiring manager.
The manager takes one look at Tom and gives him the job on the spot without any interview
The manager simply states that anyone who goes through this much chaos and this much stress has the just the determination we look for here. There is no need for an interview if Tom already displays all the qualities that we idealize here.
Tom is elated and begins prancing around and knows that it became his determination that got him the job, but time certainly helped to complicate matters.
Trevor i liked how in your treatment Time is shprt and there is a constant countdown to what the main charcter needs to acomplish. But one thing i didnt understand is why time moves so fast and how the interviewer knew that Tom had gone through all the troubles he went through. Other than that good job.
